Freeway is provided by Synthilab OÜ ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the Freeway application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. About Freeway

Freeway is a free, on-device voice-to-text application for macOS. The App processes speech locally on your Mac using open-source technologies including the NVIDIA Parakeet speech recognition model.

2. License

Freeway grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal and commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

Your use of the App is subject to the restrictions in Section 4 below.

3. Privacy and Data Protection

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the App and our website. By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Your rights: Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you may have rights under the GDPR. To exercise any applicable rights, please contact us.

We commit to the following data-processing guarantees regarding your voice and dictated text:

• No training: Your voice or dictated text is not used to train AI models.
• No server retention of content: Your voice and dictated text are processed and stored locally on your device and are not retained on our servers.
• Authentication without identity retention: If any features require authenticated API calls for security purposes (for example, update checks, analytics, or entitlement checks), we do not retain your voice or dictated text, and we do not retain user content in a way that could reasonably be associated with your identity.

These core guarantees will not change without prior notice.

4. Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, our systems, or related networks
• Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices (including copyright or trademark notices)
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App
• Distribute, sublicense, lease, rent, sell, resell, transfer, or provide access to the App to any third party, except as expressly permitted by applicable law
• Create multiple accounts, share account access, or otherwise circumvent account or device limits (if applicable)
• Interfere with or disrupt the App, the servers or networks connected to the App, or other users' access to the App
• Bypass, disable, or circumvent any payment, subscription, entitlement, or security mechanisms (if applicable)

5. Intellectual Property

The App, including its software, design, user interface, branding, and all related intellectual property rights, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not use our trademarks, logos, or other brand features without our prior written permission. Except for the limited license granted in Section 2, no rights are granted to you under these Terms.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties (Free Service — No Warranty)

Freeway is provided completely free of charge. The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will meet your specific requirements
• The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• The speech recognition results will be accurate or reliable
• Any errors in the App will be corrected

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Freeway and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use the App
• Any errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies in the speech recognition
• Any unauthorized access to or use of your device
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code that may be transmitted through the App

8. Open-Source Components

Freeway incorporates open-source software and models, including but not limited to NVIDIA Parakeet. These components are subject to their respective open-source licenses. Your use of these components is governed by their applicable license terms.

9. Updates

We may release updates to the App from time to time. These updates may include bug fixes, new features, or security patches. While we strive to improve the App, we are under no obligation to provide updates, support, or maintenance.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for any reason.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
